Pop Icon Dua Lipa steps up as mental health leader of the year

American singer and songwriter Dua Lipa, known for her outstanding efforts to spread awareness about mental wellness, has earned the title of Mental Health Champion of the Year.

The 29-year-old singer has always been very vocal whenever it comes to helping people with their social topics.

The Trevor project, a leading nonprofit organisation which aimed to protect LGBTQ+ youth, recently honoured the singing sensation to support the community.

Lipa was was awarded for her “outspoken support for LGBTQ+ rights and her candour around her own mental health struggles.”

The annual award also paid tribute to public figures who came out of their shelves to use their voice and leave a good influence on the community people.

Sharing her recent statement, the Levitating hitmaker shared that she was “unbelievably moved and honoured” to accept the award.

The One Kiss singer explained: “The Trevor Project is an organisation that is near and dear to my heart, and I am humbled to play a part in shining a light on mental health awareness.”

“You are a beautiful, unstoppable community, and I am constantly in awe of the courage and strength you demonstrate when you stand proudly in your truth,” she added.
