Emirates cancels flights to Iraq, Iran and Jordan amid regional unrest – Times of India

Dubai’s Emirates airline has canceled flights to Iraq, Iran, and Jordan for three days due to regional unrest following an Iranian missile strike on Israel. The cancellations affect flights from October 3 to October 5.
Emirates issued an official statement saying, “Emirates is canceling all flights to/from Iraq (Basra and Baghdad), Iran (Tehran), and Jordan (Amman) on October 4 and 5 due to regional unrest.”
This decision follows earlier cancellations of flights between Dubai and Beirut, which will remain suspended until October 8.
Apart from Emirates, other airlines are also taking precautionary measures due to the ongoing unrest. Germany’s Lufthansa has suspended its flights to Beirut until November 30 and canceled flights to Tel Aviv until October 31. Lufthansa flights to Tehran will also be halted until October 14.
These flight disruptions follow Iran’s launch of around 200 missiles, including hypersonic weapons, toward Israel on Tuesday. Some of these missiles flew over Jordanian and Iraqi airspace. Israel said that most of the missiles were intercepted.
In the latest raids, three Israeli airstrikes targeted Hezbollah’s stronghold in southern Beirut on Thursday, according to Lebanon’s state media.
