‘Sad’ Jennifer Lopez shares ‘scary’ truth about her split with Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez finally breaks silence on Ben Affleck split

Jennifer Lopez is finally breaking her silence on Ben Affleck split, just two months after filing for divorce.

The star, who sported leopard print for an exclusive sit-down with Interview Magazine on the outlet’s 55th anniversary, said the split turned out to be extremely “sad, scary.”

Although the Atlas actress refrained from mentioning Ben, she reflected on the life lessons learned this year.

In addition, The Boy Next Door star revealed that life ‘blew up’ in her face, adding up to her tumultuous year overall.

The multi-hyphenate star also admitted to going through a rough patch, expressing the urge to isolate herself after divorcing her former husband of two years.

She told the outlet, “You have to be healthy. You have to be complete if you want something that’s more complete.

“You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t. And then, this summer, I had to be like, “I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.”

In response to the singer’s claim, interviewer Nikki asked JLo if it has been tough for her to handle everything at once.

To which Lopez instantly replied, “Yes, it’s f***ing hard!

“It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary. It feels sad. It feels desperate.”

Lopez further emphasised that it’s crucial to find happiness ‘within yourself’ instead of seeking it in other people.

She went on to add, “But when you sit in those feelings and go, “These things are not going to kill me,” it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people.

“I have to have happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, “No, I’m actually good.”’

JLo then addressed her life lessons, saying that it’s a “lifelong process” before she quipped, “There’s only getting better and growing if you want to. It’s either growing or dying, and I don’t want to do the dying part.”

This comes after the former celebrity couple was spotted strolling down the street chatting in Los Angeles.

The actress was caught up in an emotional moment at the time as she met Ben for a cosy lunch with kids.
