Ratan Tata News Updates: The final rites of beloved industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata were performed with full state honours at a crematorium in Worli, Mumbai, on Thursday evening. The last rites were performed as per the Parsi tradition.
Family members, including his half-brother Noel Tata, as well as top executives from the Tata Group, including chairman N. Chandrasekaran, were present at the Worli crematorium.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, cabinet colleague Piyush Goyal, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, deputy Devendra Fadnavis, and Congress leader and former CM Sushilkumar Shinde were also in attendance.
Earlier in the day, thousands of people from various backgrounds gathered at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in south Mumbai to pay their respects. Tata passed away on Wednesday night at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital at the age of 86.
