TRENDING RUMORS

Chelsea are not confident they will be able to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and are searching for alternatives, says journalist Simon Phillips. The Blues have been monitoring several centre-forwards in Europe, including Brighton & Hove Albion‘s Evan Ferguson and Ipswich Town‘s Liam Delap. Though Nicolas Jackson has impressed at Stamford Bridge there are concerns over Christopher Nkunku‘s future at the club, and a new No. 9 is on the agenda.

– Manchester United are looking to re-sign Lille midfielder Angel Gomes on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer, says The Sun. The 24-year-old came through the ranks at United before leaving in 2020 and he has impressed Amorim with his performances ever since, while he has also done enough to earn a call-up to the senior England side.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani could leave the club on loan in January for a club in the Premier League, says Caught Offside. West Ham and Newcastle are reported to be keen on the France international, who has struggled for minutes this season, while Le10 Sport reports that Man United are considering making an offer. Sources have told ESPN that Fulham and Everton are also monitoring the situation.

Chelsea‘s Ben Chilwell has emerged as a possible loan target for Juventus this winter, reports Tuttosport. The left-back has been frozen out at Stamford Bridge by new manager Enzo Maresca, meaning he’s now on the lookout for a new club. As such, Juve could soon test the waters with a January loan offer for Chilwell, one which would require Chelsea to continue paying a percentage of his €5m-per-year salary.

Jonathan David won’t leave Lille this winter despite strong interest from Bayern Munich, Florian Plettenberg has reported. With the Canada international also highly unlikely to sign a contract extension, all signs point to David becoming a free agent next summer. The 24-year-old won’t be short of admirers if he does become a free agent, as the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are all said to be interested in signing him. David has scored 78 goals in 157 Ligue 1 matches since joining Lille in 2020.

EXPERT TAKE

ESPN’s Julien Laurens on interest from the Premier League in Randal Kolo Muani.

Looking at PSG’s last five games in all competitions, it is obvious that manager Luis Enrique doesn’t trust Randal Kolo Muani. The forward was given 24 minutes at Angers, 17 and 9 against Atletico Madrid and PSV, then left on the bench for the wins over Lens and Marseille. Signed for €80m from Eintracht Frankfurt just 18 months ago, the France international has only started two games out of 15, for a total of 436 minutes and two goals.

Luis Enrique clearly doesn’t consider him good enough technically, or intelligent enough to play in his fluid system. And with the return of Gonçalo Ramos from injury, Kolo Muani will soon drop even lower in the pecking order.

I’m sure the 25-year-old would love to change his manager’s mind and try to succeed in his hometown, but he needs to move in January or he risks losing his place with the national team. PSG would want a transfer fee of around €50m-€60m for him, but are likely to accept a loan so he can prove his worth again as no team will want to pay that now given his form.

For Frankfurt (23 goals and 14 assists in 2022-23) and France (seven goals and two assists in 2024) he has shown what he can do. But he needs to play in a counter-attacking team who are good in transition. A return to the Bundesliga makes sense, but his dream is to play in the Premier League and he would fit very well there. Manchester United have yet to show an interested, despite reports, a source told ESPN. However, West Ham, Fulham and Everton are monitoring his situation.
