Amazon executive to be new Nestle India head – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Nestle India said its chairman and managing director Suresh Narayanan will retire on July 31, 2025. The Swiss parent has nominated Manish Tiwary as the company’s new MD, subject to approvals. Tiwary is currently a director at Amazon Digital Services and More Consumer Brands and he will step down from this role on Oct 30 this year, a BSE filing said.
Tiwary has nearly three decades of experience in leading large-scale operations and strategic initiatives within the e-commerce and consumer goods sectors. Before this, he was the country manager of Amazon India.
Tiwary joined Amazon in 2016 after a 20-year career at Unilever, where he held roles in sales, marketing, and general management across various categories and channels in India, Gulf & North Africa.
Narayanan took over as managing director of Nestle India in 2015. He is recognised for rejuvenating the company’s flagship instant noodles brand Maggi after FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) had raised concerns about the high levels of lead and monosodium glutamate in the product, leading to a temporary ban and significant backlash for the brand.
Appointment of Tiwary from Amazon could bring a wealth of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing and customer-centric strategies. With his background in navigating the complexities of online retail, Tiwary could help Nestle enhance its digital presence, streamline supply chains and optimise online sales channels. His expertise could drive innovative marketing strategies that resonate with a tech-savvy consumer base, enabling Nestle to better engage with customers and adapt to changing market dynamics, industry experts say.
